RE: [RC] [RC] trucks / towing ratings (long) - Laurie DurginHaving bought steel last year, I got weights for all the 2h's I was considering. They actually start around 1900 lbs for a semi stock or stock side,--My new S & H 2h w/manger weighs 2100 lb empty. When you add enclosed backs ,windows etc. the weight goes up. My trailer only weighed 200 lb more than a fiberglass 2h --and cost half or more less. And steel is stronger in a wreck. You don't want to see what fiberglass does in a wreck, heaven forbid. Course I can only pull one horse with my 150-8 cylinder Ford and have a bit of margin.-- but we have a 250 diesal is we need to take two. I liked Benderups, but couldn't afford one and was concerned about the event of a wreck. (I know a horse the went thru the escape door of a RICE and had to be put down, damaged the trailer bad.)Not meaning to argue, just to clarify ther steel weights.
