Re: [RC] did AHA give in or did they have no choice - heidiTruman Prevatt wrote:I just read an Email from the AHA that they will recogonize the offspring from the four South American stallions - those whose owners filed suit against the AHA...What I want to know is WHY did the AHA refuse to recognize those stallions as purebreds in the first place? Because they weren't purebreds. They have documented European ancestry that is other than Arabian. This is one of those big bucks sell-outs, as far as I'm concerned. The over-simplified version is that WAHO insisted that all registries accept horses from all other registries, and the AHR had the backbone to stand up and say no. As a result, WAHO managed to mess with the importing/exporting to the US. There were ways around that, and those who wanted to import/export still managed to get it done. The new AHA combines the interests of the megabucks folks in the show world with the registration entity, and I figured it would only be a matter of time before AHA caved in on this.
