sounds like an endurance ride I did once at Wahsoe. I was trotting along 
about 10 miles into the ride with a *fresh* horse. I kept hearing this 
bell???? I rounded a corner and found a flock of about 100 sheep accompanied 
by a donkey with a huge cowbell... The horse was Huraj, a horse of Hal 
Hall's who I had been training for a year. He came to a dead stop. I asked 
him for a walk..he slowly parted the "sea of sheep" and off we went..6th 
place!
