Re: [RC] pipe panels as stalls in barn - Karen Sullivan

My original barn had two stalls separated by a pipe panel....so far it has
worked quite well with no problems
The pipe has to be heavy enough gague to withstand kicks. The barn is 11
years old and no dents or bends to
that panel that separated the stall. It is the same thickness as the
support structures for the barn (pipe barn, heavy treated plywood exterior
and stall fronts. I do like it for air flow and no maintenance...

It may also depend on how well behaved your horses are....I have not seen
any fighting over that divider.

In comparison, the pipe panels I bought to make paddocks and pasture fence
(which were being sold as HORSE panels), and gotten bent in quite a few
places...which is annoying.

Hello all, I am lurker who enjoys the experience you all share on ridecamp,
as a newbie to endurance just reading other people adventures provides me
with some great ideas and information and the occasional daily laugh!

The reason I am writting today is my mother-in-law and I are looking to
build a barn on our property. We are debating back and forth over the use
of pipe panels. The outer shell of the barn is going to to be log like
their house, but she wants to use pipe panels as the stall dividers, I have
reservation about this so I am trying to find information on the pros/cons
of pipe panels versus tradtional box stalls. Her main reason is not money
but air movement since we live area of the south that has high humidity!
The horses would only be in there to eat and for bad weather. Any
experieces, suggestion, or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Faith B.
