[RC] call for help - Donna MurphyDear riders: The upcoming Old Glory I and II is just around the corner, May 28 & 29th. This is a TERA sponsored ride but more importantly it is the organization's fundraiser. I have volunteered to help Chris Godsey, (ride manager), get things donated for the awards, and we thought we should put it out to ALL riders that we need help. For the Heart of the Hills in March Chris and I got our feed stores to donate items and I donated some money to buy some other awards. I exhausted my feed store from the March ride, and they can not donate again so soon. So this is a call for help! Most all feed stores are willing to help out, so please ask them. We will gladly recognize them for their donations! You can take the ride registration information to show them information on the ride. We need awards for 2 days of competition, for both the 25 and 50 mile distances. It is nice to offer nice awards for top ten's, Best Condition, etc. We can do it with your help! Eron Howell has once again generously given us a deal on her great T shirts for completion! We are also considering having a silent auction of donated items as a fundraiser. This could be any kind of item, and perhaps something used but still in good enough shape that someone may want to bid on it. We all have stuff in our barn that collects dust and this might be the time to move it on! Everyone loves to bid on things, so let's make it fun! You could even collect things from neighbors and such! If you need any ideas or suggestions on items, please do not hesitate to contact me. We of course need lots of volunteers to make the ride run smoothly, let's all pitch in, whatever it takes! Chris has done a fabulous job at making this ride a great one, let's continue to support her efforts, and support the sport we so dearly love!
