Re: [RC] Tire Pressure and Weight - Eric DrewHere is what's important what truck are the tires on? what is its weight? what is the load range rating of the tires? what is the GVWR of the trailer[a gooseneck puts 25% of the trailer weight onto the trucks weight with that info you can get an idea of what tires you need short of going to a public scale to get individual axle weights I tow with Load Range E tires [3415 pounds]. my truck weighs 8000 and my trailer has a gvwr of 11300 but it rarely weighs over 8000. so for a rough guess of the load over back wheels take half the truck weight plus 25% of trailer weight divided by 2 [4 if you have a dually in the rear] should give the min tire rating that you want so in my case 4000 + 2800 /2 = 3400 per tire at maximum load I run the max psi listed on the sidewall loaded and 10psi less empty --- Eric Drew --- eidrew@xxxxxxxxxxxxx --- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
