Hay is, essentially, grass clippings that have been properly dried. :-) I empathize though. When I went to college, I sold the love of my life to a great home. Unfortunately, 10 days later, a well-meaning neighbor put grass clippings over the pasture fence, and my colt died. No WAY I would ever allow someone to feed my horse grass clippings -- too much baggage on my part.
