Re: [RC] to shoe or not... - Tiffany D'Virgilio

One thing I have noticed. First off, the rocks this spring are worse than ever due to the flooding washing away what little soil we have. My 7 year old is getting out and riding my endurance mare, so I am finishing the green mare and getting her legged up. Shoot, after a month her feet are worn. Heel growth isn't keeping up. I'm dreading shoeing her as that is another 85 bucks, and the farrier and I love her feet. BUT, if I want a legged up horse I think I have to do it. I'd put my 60 pound kiddo on her, but I know she is SAFE with my bombproof mare. No trails to stay off rocks here.
Maybe I'll bust out my ez boots the other mare never needed-she hasn't lost a shoe in 4 years. LOVE my farrier. You have to do what's best for your horse on your trails-period.
Isn't there an EZ boot how to page from Karen?
Tiffany-who is willing to send pics of my trails for those who don't believe what I am riding on.

Barefoot endurance is inevitable, it's a valid RideCamp topic like

the dialog? Jonni, shoe your horse, ride your ride and skip to the next
