[RC] For horse women and girls - Dolores ArsteFrom another list..... : In a recent book by Jane Smiley (non-fiction about her own horses) : she has a passage in which she describes the psychologists' view : that little-girl love for horses is supposed to be a substitute for : boyfriends, husbands and children. But then she goes on to say that : as an adult she realized that boyfriends, husbands and children : were, for her, a substitute for HORSES.........
