RE: [RC] Cloning horse - Jim Holland150 years? I'm 63. Until I was about 10, my grandfather had no electricity other than a single light bulb from the ceiling on a cord in two rooms,(no plugs)water was a hand pump on the back porch, and my grandmother cooked on a wood stove. I still fondly remember the taste of sugar syrup and biscuits made with lard and cold left-over fried flounder and hot grits for breakfast. The bathroom was a privy out back and we bathed in a "tin tub" in front of the fireplace with water heated on the stove. That was only about FIFTY years ago. My only argument to Diane's philosophic discussion is this: We are incredibly better off than we were 150 years ago, much less 5,000. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
