hauling cross country to the North American Championships in Flagstaff, AZ, we
just pulled into KOA's really late at night and did the night registry thing.
Then parked at the far back corner of the place and cleaned up really well the
next morning. When they saw we'd had a horse at checkout time they went and
checked our site, then told us we were welcome to return. Found out later that
those who had called ahead and asked if they could camp with a horse were
turned down. Goes to show...easier to get forgiveness than permission.

Most KOA's out west will allow you to stay. There is one in Missouri
near 6 Flags that does I think that's the closest in the East. I did stop
in Shreveport, I think, and they let me stay. Had a steep fee if you
didn't clean up.
