RE: [RC] [RC] The Bridle & the Bit - Laurie DurginI actually read the whoooooole thing.....whooosh..... I have done a little dressage... the only descripency I noticed was when they showed the neck turning with the hands even to show the snaffle cranking back the outside ... I was taught and have read, you bring your outside hand forward, so as to not put pressure on the snaffle when bending. .You'd draw the inside hand back and push the outside forward...The upper level I have only read about..... and watched...and alot of those horses don't look comfortable.... But the way the bits work seems reasonable. I have been to a myler seminar, and use two, my horses seem more relaxed in them. I also follow John Lyons methods and have seen horses trained without all the gimmicks. And I know some of the english show crowd and I think, it is a 'fad' thing. That and the "instant' society... no one wants to take time and a method and work it, they go from thing to thing, fad to fad, and the amazing horses manage to survive it all. Observance and consistancy are the best training tools.....
