[RC] stirrups (was riding shoes) - JonniI have a friend who has ridden in the inexpensive older style wooden stirrups for years and years, as they have that little bit of flex and give, and were easier on her knees and legs.(not the pretty wood ones done in layer after layer of polished wood, but the ones that look almost like unfinished plywood) They are harder to find these days, so when she finds a used pair at some sale, or yard sale, she will grab them up if they are in good condition. We are all so individual as to stirrups etc., and what works for each of us. Jonni We had a friend Bob Foster who's wife was an endurance rider (Dorothy) and he claimed he had remedied Dorothy's foot and knee problems and suggested I try his stirrups. So I did and he was right. They have lasted 14 years came with this crazy toe basket that I don't want to ride with out but they come with out them too. Bob explained that the Nylon allows the stirrups to flex with your weight which eliminated the pressure on your feet, knees etc.<<< =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
