I dont know that I'd throw the race type in with the show type! Arabs bred for racing can and do successfully cross over to endurance careers. And my old man is so gentle, my 9 YO grandson handles him with ease. That horse has been a wonderful babysitter to weanlings. He's got great bone and had a long race career which he ended healthy. His trainer told me Szyb never had lameness or back issues while racing. My chiro vet was surprised this horse had raced.. said his back and legs were too good for a race horse, LOL...

type, and the race type. Most of the older style horses are not so hot, or
if they are hot, they're not dangerous. -just very very happy on occasion.
I've raised my kids riding my broodmares and I wouldn't breed anything the
kids couldn't trail-ride or joust on. That's part of my performance
testing.
