This is not a smart ass question, I am curious. I'd say *much* of the time the *issues* are brought on by us, the riders. How we ride, the saddles we choose, the farriers we use...etc. The really amazing horses are the ones who do what they do despite the mistakes we make. The most successful competitors are the ones who work through the issues individual horses come up with and figure out how to go on and continue to compete.
