[RC] Riding Shoes - mkrumlawI have a short wide foot (size 7) and I go back and forth between my Saucony running shoes and my Ariat Cobalt Devon Pro's (zips). I really like the Sauconys on hot days and when I know I'm going to be getting off the horse a lot and running down hills and/or there's a good chance I'm going to be on foot in water or deep mud. Saucony makes at least two different toe boxes for women, one of which is wider and more rounded. A favorite left over from my running days. They currently have a model TR5 (I think) that's more of a trail running shoe and is wonderful. If I'm going to need a heel for those one hour dressage lessons (;-) ) or I'm pretty sure I'm going to be in the saddle the whole ride then I prefer the Ariat Colbolts. I think the leather they use for the Cobalts is treated and is either water resistant or possibly even water proof. At any rate I've had my current pair for over a year and they look great. I also like the zippers...
