Re: [RC] riding shoes - heidiI do the same as Merryben, wear them as "town" 'til they start looking like "ranch" shoes, then turn them into riding shoes. What I dislike about them for about the first couple of weeks, is that the tongue is so thick it's uncomfortable until they're broken in & flattened a bit. For $40, I can deal with that. The wearing them as "town" shoes is also my MO. But I found a different brand for my wide feet--Propet puts out wide women's shoes, and I found one model that is fairly rugged and suitable for riding. Like Barbara, I also have some other foot issues--and they are supportive and comfortable. They don't hold up quite as well as I'd like, but are only $50, so not too bad.
