Re: [RC] re: half chap zippers and cleanliness - rides2farThe solution is Rubbermaid condiment bottles!!! > Sounds nice and neat, but I hate to stop long enough to put them in the syringe. I mix mine & Josie's horse's electrolytes, put them in the syringes and put them inside a big freezer bag type zip-loc with the plungers sticking out since they won't fit. I've got to be able to hop off, dose and be back on fast or I feel guilty when people stop with us. I have gone so far as to reach around, grab his bridle and turn his head, dosing from the saddle but I'm not as good at it as Darolyn's crowd. I usually just hop off and dose mine & Josie's horses then take off again. I have actually been trotting down the trail in a string of horses and decided to take water from my bottle, squirt it in a syringe, pour in a dose of electrolytes and mix it on the fly. About the time I had my hands full the idiot in the front decided to take off at a mad gallop...then my sponge came out from where it was tucked into the fork of my saddle and was dragging. It was exciting. I didn't drop the electrolytes. I was good back then; but I'm getting old now.
