Re: [RC] re: half chap zippers and cleanliness - rides2far@xxxxxxxxI have a pair of the classic Ariat half-chaps and they have about 2 thousand miles of competition on them, plus conditioning OK, one more question, how to you allow for different thicknesses of tights/sweat pants/ jeans or whatever you're riding in that day? I mostly wear tights but on these green horses just walking around I sometimes stay in my jeans and have to attach the half chaps much looser. I'm interested in the zippers because my sponge string hangs on the velcro pretty often and I would like to eliminate that problem. I saw they have some elastic but I really hate elastic gripping my legs. Also, Ed, I've run the fanny pack through the clothes washer & dishwasher and sprayed the nylon zippers with WD-40 with very little luck. I never had trouble with the zippers till I started carrying electrolytes with me (home made that tend to leak out) on loops. I would like a little holster for electrolytes that had a velcro top to hang on my saddle. I may have to make one. For those of you who can't imagine how I could get electrolytes in my chaps...I also have had them running down into my eyes throughout an entire loop when it was raining. I guess the horse spit the clump on my head and the rainwater carried it down. Most people have to pay for saline solution. :-) Angie (bright eyes) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
