RE: [RC] [RC] Rounded Frame - Faustina DuffyWith respect to the below quote...ummm...there IS a reason that this frame was developed. For many of the more diagonally-moving inclined gaited breeds, such as Saddlebreds (Meaning, they like to trot and move diagonally but CAN be trained with out too much trouble to perform more lateral gaits) this is the frame that will encourage the horse to perform a 4 beat gait. It is a factor of body posture and conformation interacting to change the timing of a horses footfalls. (Thus, for a more laterally inclined horse such as many TWHs, this frame will lead to a dead pace unless weight is added to the front feet to further changing footfall timing...)As saddleseat was originally much more the domain of the saddlebred, esp. the 5 gaited ones, the 3 gaited horses copied their multi gaited sibling, but only performed the 3 gaits....and it spread to other breeds.... > I've been riding for 16 years and only in the last couple years have > I been introduced to this.
