Re: [RC] battery operated fence chargers - koppjHey Mickie- How are you? Happy to read your horse is still going strong....about the chargers. I have the battery powered Yellow Jacket charger that uses 4 D batteries. I can only say what I know about this particular charger, I bought it probably 6 years ago when I thought I was going to be doing more rides on my big bay Boomer. I have used it at various rides and in my back yard in Ohio when I wanted to have the horses graze in certain sections. It has sat for long periods of time just hanging in the barn. Last year I used it alot more with my new horse at various endurance rides, anyway, all I can say is I have never had a problem with the charger, it lasts a long, long time on 4 batteries, and it is nice and small. So, while the intial price may be high, as with anything you get what you pay for and you shouldn't have to buy another one for a long time.
