In the general scheme of things there are worse things that can happen. I mean, you could be swimming your horse in a river and have it bitten by a 2m bull shark, f'instance... or swallowed whole by an anaconda... Probably not in CA, though. As Barbara said, the risk is probably worth the reward. * * * Me: rattlesnakes: the worst luck is to have your horse bitten by one. I've only heard first hand of this happening to one person, and she's in TX. mb: I have had three horses bitten. Two last year and one a few years ago. It is not the worst thing that can happen depending where they are bitten. My nosy parkers were bitten on the nose.
