Take #14 for instance.  Not only does the weatherman advise storm warnings, 
but FLASH FLOODS. Where we live in the coastal mountains, we don't have 
FLASH floods, just floods.  They don't come suddenly like flash floods do, 
they build up gradually as the rain falls. We might get a sudden landslide, 
but not a FLASH flood (unless of course, the landslide has dammed up the 
creek or river and then suddenly lets go.)  Somehow the misnomer irritates 
me. #2 and #10 are right on, especially in Santa Cruz County, or anywhere in 
the general San Francisco Bay area.
