[RC] GARMIN GPSHR 301 Equine - Roger RittenhouseFYII have been testing the G301 for the past 2 days. I have not placed any comments on my web site. Details forth-coming. After evaluation of the G301 and my testing to date as well as other riders testing the unit (April).. add to that the number of riders who have asked for me to offer the unit with the adapter kit installed, I have decided to offer the G301 HRGPS Equine System My tests have been positive as others have indicated. The only issue I have been able to address is the battery life. The internal battery will last for about 14 hrs. That limitation presents a problem for the 100 milers. You cannot use a standard battery. I expect I will find a solution. The lead adapter kit works well. I am working on a nicer looking attachment method. I have found a wholesale distributor who will supply me with the G301 for a fair price. I have a small quantity ordered. I have taken orders for this turn-key system at the AERC Convention. The system consists of: GARMIN Forerunner 301, the lead kit attached to the transmitter, Transmitter pouch-attached to the front D-rings on the saddle, spare transmitter electrodes, full user instructions. I will post details to my web site later this week and post a notice here. I will take advance pre-paid order. Estimated ship lead time one week. The initial price is $340.
