Life is full of choices.  If you have reason to go to convention and there
is a ride in your region, you just have to make the choice.  It isn't any
different than making the choice between two rides in your region, even
though it is customary to make sure they are separated by several miles. 
There is enough trouble trying to get dates that work with public lands,
private land owners, camp areas, etc., without taking a weekend out of the
consideration.
