[RC] Selket Preferred Stock - k s swigart

There cannot be a horse with this registered name.  The name exceeds the
number of characters allowed (21, and spaces count) by the AHA Purebred
Registry.


Can you place at a futurity without being registered?


Depends on the type of futurity.  Unregistered horses can participate in
open cutting horse or reining horse futurities, for example.  Futurity
is just the description of a competition for young horses (usually with
prize money associated).

Clearly, however, if this horse is a foal of 2003, we aren't talking
about any kind of performance horse futurity and in-hand futurities
usually are for registered horses, but I don't know this for sure, it is
possible that the Michigan State Fair has some kind of open futurity for
horses in hand.
