I usually leave the saddle on at vet checks, just
loosen the girth. Usually my horse's pulse drops within 2 min.
Sometimes in CTR if really really hot, I will take the saddle off and fan with a
bucket lid. So whatever one does, one just needs to know one's horse as
well as do the homework of conditioning. Jeanie
