[RC] Black Walnuts- Is it worth the risk? - JonniHere are a few links on Black walnut. While toxic reactions to horses pastured with Black walnut trees are not common, you should ask yourself if it is worth the risk. I had a friend who stabled her horse in a corral lined with Oleander for years and years. The horse never, ever touched it, or ate it. I was riding a nice gelding on a bridle trail lined with Oleander. He grabbed one bite, and ate it. He fell over dead a couple days later. I tend to lean towards extra cautious with toxic plants around the horses.
