Re: [RC] MUD!!!!! GREAT NEWS - thanks - Mary Ann Spencer
Hey, my horse has had thrush since we bought him 2
yrs ago. Was using tinc of iodine but this past summer found
ThrushBuster. It really helped. Had been living in E TX where it is
common to have the dang stuff. The thrushbuster is a weekly thing and the
horse doesn't mind it like he did the iodine. WELL, we were just about all
over it when the RAINS of LA hit. We are here for a 3 month job.
Have been worried but this post is encouraging. Did notice today his
hooves look ok. Will check tomorrow in daylight. Perhaps the COLD is
a deterrent to the growth of the yeast. Yeast likes warm moist
places. Now I am not feeling so guilty about his hooves in all this
wet mud. In the past have never had any horses with thrush, except in NC but
that is a different story yet. mas
I just have to tell you, Angie: after fretting now for
weeks seeing my horses ankle deep in really gross mud (this is not a sight
we usually drought ridden southern californians are accustomed to), and
going through horrible guilt over not having installed french
drains, or removed 4' of dirt and replaced it with sand, your post
on this topic is such a wonderful gift!
The image of those brown
socks on the greys--without thrush or white line in their mucky
hooves--gives one heart at a time when it's reallly needed (especially
since here the rain's slated to continue apparently without
end).
