I emailed the owner of this postive mare.  Yes, it is true and that mare is 
in the pasture next to my cousin's horses!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO ONE EVEN CONTACTED 
HER!  THAT is irrisponsible.  When I called my cousin this morning to tell 
her a positive test was reported in Chico  it was the first she had heard 
about it.  When I was telling her about the horse she asked the gals name 
and when I told her she said "Oh great, she is right next door to my 
horses"! They were wondering why that horse was out in the pasture all alone 
in a corral for the past month.

Isn't it the State Vets responsiblity to contact EVERYONE that is close to 
this mare?

Can you tell I am pretty heated about this?
