Re: [RC] Postive Coggins test in Chico, CA??? - Truman PrevattYou will not get into FL - or more correctly across the Suwanee River - without a coggins and health certificate. You will not get flagged through an Ag station in FL and if you go by one you will be run down with flashing blue lights, forced to return and show your papers. FL is one of the only states that really seems to take checking entry (and exit) seriously. I've driven all over hell half acre and much of the US without ever being checked - except for FL.However, the last few times I've entered GA, I have been pulled over on the road by an ag inspector and had my papers checked. I hear they are also on the prowl in KY. Truman Mary Ann Spencer wrote: In TX, ALL horses leaving your property HAVE to have a negative coggins within the past yr. ALL organized require showing it. For a while some were checked while riding along the road. A few yrs ago, the Houston Fatstock Trail ride turned away some riders because they were not carrying the actual coggins papers on them, even tho they were checked when they signed up to do the ride and the papers were in their vehicle. I set up a 3 ring binder and carry the papers in the tow vehicle. -- “A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties.” Harry S.
