RE: [RC] Postive Coggins test in Chico, CA??? - Stephanie E CaldwellSindy, Here in North Carolina the horse must be quarantined not within 5 miles of another Equine or humanely destroyed. If that horse had a positive Coggins here the state would come out long before it got around on message boards or a second Coggins was pulled. My horse was possible EIA after being exposed to a horse that was probable EIA with no Coggins. It was a living nightmare to go through and the state tried to take my horse. I now do Coggins every six months.
