Re: [RC] [RC] Death Valley Encounter/driving with chains - heidiI chickened out on the driving with chains on my motorhome. Did not own any, not needed in TX. Could not rationalize the added expense and risk. Those that did were quite courageous. CA is now having to cancel other rides due to the weather. And to think I tried to get out of the E TX rain and humidity. LOL! Sometimes you just can't win for losin'! Most of the tire dealerships here will sell you a set of tire chains and then give you your money back in the spring if you return them unopened. (So far, I've only been able to make good on that refund policy once in my entire life--and that was when we accidentally got two pairs for one car!) I'll have to chain up my feed truck before long, most likely--and when I do, the chains will just stay on it all winter. And since I'm down to just two pairs now, I'll have to get another full set for my other pickup, since it's the one that goes on the highway. Prob'ly need a set for the "new" Subaru, too... <sigh> Heidi =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
