Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] Thuro-Bilt Trailers - terry banisterBetter ride for the horse. It is all about minimizing stress factors on the horse, including sublte things (because they all add up) like: - Noise of something banging or rattling throughout the trip. Metal trailers are noisy in many ways. -Lack of ventilation, OR too much Wind causing dry eyes, or hay and shavings to blow around eyes and nose. (Imagine facing your open car window while traveling on freeway with 18 wheelers passing all day long). -Roof too low and causing a feeling of claustrophobia (Horses throw their head up periodically, especiallly when loading, and even if they are "good" they feel restricted when they see there isn't enough height. -Road Heat radiating up through the floor (especially on aluminum trailers) -Ramps too shorth, steep and slippery, which is sometimes the reason for the horse's hesitation to load. -Space too short to stretch neck for balance and lower head for clearing nasal passages etc. If you think how you would feel after traveling cross country in an old bus compared to arriving after a first class seat in a big jet, And then run a marathon in a few hours, you'll get the picture.
