[RC] Mentors - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I am fortunate enough to have some great mentors, some I haven't met, only a
couple that I have ridden with.
Karen, Elfta, The Duck, Barney, Susan G, just to name a few.
I ask questions, listen to what they have to say, then implement
their suggestions.
Frank, Cindy C, Angie and a handful of others on Ridecamp that I consider
creditable, they are my mentors.
My number one mentor is my horse. I observe him, trust his instincts and pay
attention to what he is telling me.
My suggestion to the rider looking for a mentor is to use caution, seek out
creditable people, their knowledge is limitless, they are willing to help but
more often than not you will need to ask.
Beware of the eager.

The CRI was originally a test for humans developed at UCLA in 1939. A
professor at UC Davis named Morey Fowler became interested in this and
wondered how it would work on horses and started testing it. Dr. Fowler
was at one time the head vet at Tevis. A young vet named Kerry Ridgeway
worked with him on this project helping to collect the data...........and
as they say, the rest is history...
