Seasonal Attractions at the Land Between the
Lakes
For those of you who want a little extra to
go along with your ride experience the following is a list of attractions that will be open this year during the LBL
Express.
The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station the
Golden Pond Planetarium, Hillmans Ferry, and the Elk and Bison Prairie.
While you are viewing Bison, just right off the Trace you can visit an old
iron forge. Of course you can take your
binoculars along and view all types of shore birds along trail 1 and 8.
If you are interested in water transportation
you can watch barges ply the Cumberland River all day long.
The LBL is a great place to visit. Lots to
do and see.
Of course there is a first class camp ground with
electric, water, showers, and a full service
restaurant at the Wranglers camp ground.
Primitive camping is also available.
For those of you interested in the trail this
year, I am taking out the 8KK section.
8KK as you may remember is the Knee Knocker
section of trail 8. I have rerouted
it onto some very nice FS road sections
with soft sides. The power line trail is still
closed
due to reclamation. So for those of you who
like a trail that is not quite as challenging as the
power line, trail 8,9,10 and 11 will do just
fine.
