[RC] [RC] Feet in water trough - Flora Hillman

I have two ponies that loved to use the big 150 gallon Rubbermaid water trough as their personal wading pools.  Doesn't matter what the season -- summer or winter -- they would climb in with both front feet, one waiting patiently for it's turn while the other churned the water into what resembled the Muddy Mississippi.

Those splash-happy ponies used to scare the wits out of the  poor goldfish on duty.

Finally, after spending one morning filling up the trough and coming back a few minutes later to find BOTH with front feet in the tough together playing  like they were on the Wild Rapids River Ride at a major theme park,  I gave them a low-profile sheep's water trough to play in, and set the 150 gallon up on high cinder blocks -- high enough that neither can lift their leg high enough to put it in the water, but low enough that all the ponies can still drink from it.

Problem solved.
