[RC] saddle question! Alternatives to Pendleton Wade Tree Saddle - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

Hi everyone,

Ridecamp is just the greatest place to learn about saddles and fit, and
although this question isn't directly endurance related, I thought some of the
many saddle mavens here might entertain my question. TIA!

My dear horse, a someday-maybe-when-my-baby-gets-older endurance prospect needs
a new saddle. But first, I actually need to ride the guy.

Long back story with this this, but summed up, rescued 4 years ago, sent him to
a great trainer last year (super guy, Buck Branaman student) who sucessfuly
dealt with his multitude of issues. Now I need a saddle, and we need to go
back to training together. The trainer recommended a Northwest Pendleton Wade
Tree saddle for my horse for a few reasons. Zi is really, really sensitive to
leg and seat aids, all the leather helps buffer my unintentional aides. Zi's
back (very broad and barrel-like) is only comfortable in a saddle with a shape
of the Wade tree.

I'd love to have the Pendleton Lady Wade, but at $2300, its going to be a
couple of years before I can save all of that up. Does anyone have any
suggestions for a lower priced saddle that would fit the bill. I'd like to
stay with a western style.

Thanks,
Kelly and Zi
