[RC] saddle question - SuperJockey

Dear Ridecampers,
 
I have a saddle question and thought you might be able to help.
 
Currently, I ride Missile in Mom's 17 1/2" Wintec 500 AP, since my saddle no longer fits him.  However, Mom's saddle fits her long-backed Paint mare fine, but it is too long for Missile.
 
So, what should I do?  I am looking into buying a new saddle, but I am just a student, and my budget is limited.  Anything under $500 is in my price range.
 
Any suggestions regarding the saddle?  What works for your short-backed Arabs?  I would prefer a synthetic English-style saddle, but is there one out there that might fit Missile?
 
Frustrating!
 
I would greatly appreciate any assistance.
