Their winter coats will soon be shedding; clipping now will mess up their spring/summer coats How do you mean? I never had a problem clipping in the spring- was I messing something up? I feel that long wet hair is uncomfortable and can chill a horse, so I trace clip or a small variation of this fall AND spring. Agreed. Especially if one lives in a relatively warm area it's really hard on the horses to work with a full coat. I've never had the slightest problem or "messed up" a Spring coat no matter what time of year I clipped. I started doing trace clips this year instead of full body clips (love the trace clips!), and have now done several horses several times each this winter, starting back in October. If I'd only done them the one time, they'd be fuzz balls again by now (especially my friend's gelding, who is already hairing up again from his last clip just a month ago). ~Nicole =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
