"Now if I get any email with either PayPal or eBay logos in it asking
for ANY response, I forward them to their spoof ..."
This is a variation of the classic "bank inspector"
con. In the classic con you get a phone call from a "bank inspector" who
says that there is a problem with theft at the bank. You can help by.....
It ends with you taking money out and giving it to him (or now by giving him
some of your numbers.)
Moral: Don't give anyone your financial
information unless you have initiated the contact. If called by someone
from a financial institution don't give information until you have called back
to a known good number (i.e. from a phone book.) Same goes with email or
web contacts. Only communicate with known good addresses. It is easy
to click on the link in an email, but the link you always use in your favorites
is more likely to be the real one.
