Re: [RC] Riding Tights Questions - heidiWill be getting myself a pair or two of Nylon/Lycra riding tights. Due to the sensitive, tender skin on the inside of my knees I tend to get sores there. Have tried all kinds of padding when my friend finally allowed me to use her cycling tights with stirrups. It worked! No more sores! Am finding it difficult to find any tights that have stirrups. Is it possible to find these? How about with ankle zippers too rather than only the elastic bands at the bottom? Are there more than one weight of Nylon/Lycra blends? In the fall and spring have worn these under my riding pants which has the knee patches. Not sure how they would work alone without being under something else, especially come the hot and humid summers we have here in the midwest. Would they be too slick riding in a leather saddle and/or with a sheepskin cover? Val, check out Carousel riding tights. They come with their own knee patches so you don't need britches over the top to have the "grip." And you can get them with or without stirrups. (I'm a no-stirrups-on-the-tights person, but Colleen makes 'em both ways...) BTW, to prevent sores, also try using products such as Desitin or some of the body glide products.
