As the original poster, I was a little dismayed to
see this become a thread that turned into age requirements. Thanks to Ms.
MSG for adding a note of common sense. In American society, litigation has
virtually eliminated common sense - hence the warning "contents may be hot" on
your take-out coffee cup. Hmmm. . . Egyptian society assuming more
common sense than American. Something for philosophers to
ponder.
From what I have read, the experienced junior
sponsors say most kids start at 10 or 11, earlier only if you have an
exceptional, motivated kid, AND an exceptional, experienced horse, AND
an easy, uncrowded ride the sponsor is familiar with. That was
the information I was hoping for, and thanks to those of the list that provided
it.
