Re: [RC] Break-ins & thefts at Auburn Overlook, Rattlesnake Bar & Sterling ... - Suzi Maiorisi
OMG, in the 80's that was all the rage in New Orleans...if you break down
on the interstate you KNEW better than to leave your car, because if you did it
was stripped clean within 15 minutes! I asked my then hubby when we first
moved down there what the deal was with the cars just sitting on the ground with
no wheels...LOL...Live and learn, at least I asked before it ever happened to
me!

I dunno. I knew a horse trainer that left his *huge* red doberman in
his truck to protect it. Somebody stole his dog. :-P We have lots of
trouble at the Chickamauga Battlefield parking area in North Georgia. It's
been going on for years. It's a very busy parking area with plenty of
traffic. Meanwhile I don't know anyone who's had anything stolen at Pigeon
Mtn. which is more remote... but from the looks of that caver's car
I'm guessing he'd been robbed *somewhere* before. I worry more about
my wheels than anything. I've got some big tires and chrome wheels on
my truck and after buying new tires recently I'm afraid to park
anywhere remote. Anybody ever come back to find their truck on blocks? I
did have a friend who came back to find they'd stolen the light hookup off
his trailer.
