Re: [RC] [RC] Trailer brakes--disasterous - Sisu West Ranch - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Erick Larson paradigm@xxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== There is an easier and safer way of testing your trailer brakes on each and every hookup. 1. Once you are hooked up and climb back into your truck adjust the brakes to their highest setting. 2. Every brake controller I've had has a manual lever or button to deploy the brakes. Push and hold this button or lever all the way while gently stepping on the gas. 3. Your truck should not move! By adding even more gas you could pull forward while skidding the trailer tires. They should be locked up. 4. If you can't lock the trailer brakes at maximum setting DON'T HAUL. You can perform this simple test each and every time you jump in the truck before loading up and pulling away. It only takes seconds. -Erick- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
