[RC] cost of shoeing - Alice YovichI'm a few days behind, so pardon me if this topic is over.I'm in the DFW and I had a farrier who everyone at my barn, with dressage horses loves! He is always on time, he comes every 6 weeks, barring disaster and is completely reliable. The problem I had was that he wouldn't take anything off her feet since she is barefoot. She had long toes and was out of balance and her stifles/hocks were sore. The vet recommended a different way of doing her feet and he wouldn't do it. I found a new farrier and I loved him. He got Deli balanced and she's going great. Only, I had to reschedule my farrier and now he won't call me back. He has been a little upset that I want her to be barefoot for the winter and I think he's not coming back to me b/c I only have 2 trims, so I'm not sure I'm worth his time. I had to find another farrier, who I will meet next week. I'm sure he'll be very good. Both of my farriers have charged the same--$30 for a trim--$65 fronts and $85-90 for all the way around. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
