Lets leave it there. Who wants the AERC to be a child welfare agency? I see two reasons that the AERC should have a minimum age for riders: the altruistic one, for the benefit of the very young children that a few people enter in rides; and the other to protect the AERC from the disastrous consequences should a five or six year-old child be maimed or killed on an AERC sanctioned event. As has been pointed out, this would directly affect only a very few people, because most parents are responsible enough to not subject very young children to situations that they can't safely handle (even with supervision). But IMO if it saves one, that's reason enough. -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxx http://www.rnbw.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
