RE: [RC] Riding Safety on the Trail - Eric DrewI carry an EZ Boot, cell phone, pocket knife, couple of cliff bars, lightweight waterproof jacket, full first aid kit [I'm a fire fighter, force of habit]water, led flashlight, whistle. In 30 years of being in the mountains I've never had a run in with a mt lion. I really can't conceive of carrying a weapon here in CA. --- Eric Drew --- eidrew@xxxxxxxxxxxxx --- me think of safety... I always try to keep bear pepper spray with me in case I find myself needing to scare off a large animal. Then again, think of the mess it would be if the pepper spray drifted downwind and got in my horses eyes! something like: EZ boot, pocket knife, water, energy bar, a few band-aids, twine or rope, hoofpick, and vetrap or duct tape. That is what I carry with me usually, and I get separated, I have my cell phone and some safety items with me. Does anyone do this?
