[RC] Fitness - Julie FullerRene, when my kids were little, I got up at 4AM, rode an hour, either on the road or in the pasture, then cleaned up, got the kids to the sitter, then went to work. Two days a week, I left the kids at the sitter a couple hours longer, and rode. I did long rides on the weekends... say 4-6 hours. All this to do one ride a year on a paint gelding! *grin* I had no special tack, and my first 25 was done in a western saddle, jeans, cowboy hat and spurs! As the kids got older, they played in the barn while I rode in the pasture. Eventually, I could leave them home while I gallavanted around the neighborhood. Still later, I started competeing more, and the kids went along on some of rides to camp and had a ball. Then my ex started going (and as he refused to sleep in a tent, he got a camper!) Now, my kids are grown, and I have all the time in the world to train and ride, but no freakin money to compete! *scream* Hopefully that will be changing soon. My husband is at an interview now, so please pray we'll be on the trails this coming season! "Where there's a will, there's a way!"
