Re: [RC] To Bit or Not to Bit???? what do you think - DESERTRYDR1Kristen says "I admire people/horses that can use bitless bridles. But I want to LIVE. Death also "triggers a cascade of pathophysiological effects that are incompatible with athletic performance." OMIGAWD! We have funnier people here on Ridecamp than the comedy network! The one and only time I borrowed a bitless bridle to try on my mare who hates the bit, hates control of any sort, I rode her around the track at our boarding stable. And got dumped. For the first time in a couple years. She flat out ran away with me, and there was no way I was going to stop her, pulling for all I was worth, so I said WHOA, and after it sunk in.... she did. Abruptly. Leaving me, who had been hanging on her face with no where to go but over the shoulder. I don't know where this girl learned that tracks are for running, because I KNOW she has never been a race horse, nor even in training. but you show her a track, and she know exactly what to do, until her feet fall off (or I do) jeri =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
